Currently working in venice.

Camera.

Whilst walking in the streets of Venice you can’t help but start to mindlessly snap away with your camera, even when you really focus and attempt to create an image with some kind of meaning or purpose you inevitably end up with a mediocre image of a city that millions of others have documented, often with much better equipment than you! For my first week I have attempted to document the city through the camera but have left myself feeling frustrated and disappointed with the results and end up deleting the majority of them apart from a few to email to my mam! I predicted I’d feel this way really, I am by no means an outstanding photographer and feel as if the camera works against me at times! I have therefore began my work in Venice by using photographic light sensitive paper to in a way, document venice, I will be leaving pieces around Venice, under objects, in canals, wherever I find takes my interest and see how this material will react to its surroundings and will interact with the space. Perhaps I will come up with a true representation of the city.

Experiments. Ludoteca, S.M.Ausiliatrice, Castillo 450.

"Many pictures turn out to be limp translations of the known world instead of vital objects which create an intrinsic world of their own"

: Interview - Rhodri Brooks

Rhodri Brooks

I was lucky enough to meet Rhodri when we studied together back at Plymouth University, though I came in contact with his work before…
I would walk down the corridor and see these intriguing portraits with elaborate playfulness and a performative guises that seemed to mask a more…

A few images from recent exhibitions such as Cardiff Open, U.R.B.A.N Gallery, The Gate Arts centre, The Crofts, and our open house exhibition for Made in Roath.
